A Tasmanian devil, an emu and a 158kg gorilla are among the animals recreated in colourful blocks as part of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s (RZSS) Bricktastic Beasts trail at Highland Wildlife Park this Easter.
From 3 April to 30 May, the wildlife conservation charity’s visitors will come face-to-face with the impressive life-sized animal models in a first-of-its-kind event for the Highlands. More than 558,000 bricks have been used to create the sculptures, which form an interactive trail around the park.
Lindsay Ross, events and experiences manager at RZSS, said: “The trail is a must-see this spring. More than 25 sculptures can be spotted along the route, each designed to inspire curiosity about wildlife while helping visitors learn more about endangered species and the simple actions they can take to help protect them.
“Many of these animals are species we are unlikely to see up close in our lifetime, alongside a few species you can spot here at the park too. It’s a fun, family-friendly way to learn more about wildlife and will be a great addition to what is already a brilliant day out.”
Visitors can enjoy Bricktastic Beasts as part of their regular park admission.
