Summer Explorers

Summer explorers is back for 2026! Following last year's success, this year we will be running two weeks of summer explorers.

These sessions for children aged 7 to 11 follow a different theme each day so you and your child can decide which days sound best to you. Join us for one day or all ten – the choice is yours!

• Monday: Zookeeper in Training – see if you have what it takes to be a zookeeper and try your hand at designing a habitat, animal observations and enrichment making
• Tuesday: Animal Superpowers – discover the amazing ways animals survive and thrive in the wild, from camouflage to super senses! Join us for a day of games, enrichment making, thermal camera investigations and more
• Wednesday: Nature Detectives – investigate how we look for animals in the wild and explore all the skills you need to be a nature detective
• Thursday: Wee Beasties and Wild Gardens – explore our awesome wildlife garden and experience pond dipping, mini-beast hunts, nature art and more
• Friday: Wild About Science – discover how science is helping RZSS to protect animals here in Scotland all over the world through experiments, games and even investigating poo
