Animals & Attractions

Coming soon in 2023

We have a rich and vast natural history story to tell in Scotland. From the legends of our Highland tigers, to the modern-day stories of the mysterious little pollinator the pine hoverfly. Building Scotland’s Wildlife Discovery Centre will help us continue to deliver excellent customer service to our visitors and inspire them to appreciate and enjoy Scotland’s wildlife, as well as understand how they can help to conserve it.

Made up of three education hubs, the discovery, learning and hilltop buildings will feature immersive experiences and digital technology to challenge visitors, inspire action and encourage learning. Innovative spaces will give children, young people and local communities the opportunity to find out about Scotland’s wildlife heritage and how they can help with our conservation projects to save native species like the wildcat.

As we start building work for the centre, there will be some changes at the park. Our red pandas, Kevyn and Kitty, will move down to our charity's other site at Edinburgh Zoo, and our Eurasian cranes will move to a different location within the park while the works take place.

Can you help transform our Highland Wildlife Park?

With your support, Scotland’s Wildlife Discovery Centre will become a truly special world-class visitor experience at Highland Wildlife Park, where visitors can experience native species up close and be inspired to protect them. Opening in 2023, this world-class conservation centre will take you on a journey of discovery through Highland Wildlife Park, home of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS).
