Evolution & Adaptations - Secondary Lesson Programme

Location: Edinburgh Zoo & Highland Wildlife Park
Lesson Duration: 1 hour 50 minutes.

Age Suitability: Secondary 1 - 6.


Using examples of animals both in and out of the Park, we cover topics such as natural selection, speciation and physical, physiological and behavioral adaptations.

Lesson Outline
An introduction to the topic of evolution and adaptations. Pupils take part in a tour of some Park animals and an interactive session at the Education Centre involving various activities looking at different aspects of this fascinating field.
This session can be tailored to suit the level of your students including specific areas of National 4, 5, Highers and Advanced Highers.
